Blackberries any one?

Before the chickens discovered the blackberries I made turnovers with them.

Wash blackberries, sprinkle heavily with sugar, stir and let sit.

Thaw frozen puff pastry sheet according to pkg. directions, cut into squares. (pizza wheel is great for cutting.

Place macerated blackberries of each square, brush edges with egg wash (1 beaten egg w/1 tablespoon of water)

Fold closed diagonally, sealing edges well. Brush with more eggwash, sprinkle with sugar and cut 2-3 slits in top.

Bake at 400F until puffed and golden.

Quantities just depend on how many berries you have. They are deliciously messy to eat!

Blackberries are my favorite! Here is an easy cobbler for fresh fruit:

Cuppa Cuppa Cobbler

1 cup of Flour
1 cup Sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups fresh fruit (sprinkle with some sugar)
1/2 stick margarine.

melt margarine in bottom of baking dish, add fruit, mix other ingredients and pour over fruit, bake a 350 for 30 minutes or until brown on top.

This is the best blackberry pie I have ever made.

3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
2 tbsp corn starch
1/8 tsp salt
4 cups blackberries...note hint
pastry for two crust

Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt; toss with blackberries. Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry. Add blackberry mixture. Place on top crust; cut slits to allow steam to escape. Bake in 400 degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes.

Hint..... DO NOT USE OVER 4 CUPS OF BERRIES.

This pie can be eaten without a plate. It becomes thick enough to pick up and enjoy.
