I had a yellow chick hatch today in my incubator. I had 2 eggs in there from my blackshoulder peahen. She free ranges with 1 blackshoulder male and anywhere from 1-4 IB males. Is this chick 100% blackshoulder. Can multiple males fertilize eggs? I am wondering if the egg that I am waiting for to hatch will also be blackshoulder. I am hoping for 2 blackshoulder hens.

Multiple males can fertilize the eggs of a single hen, as sperm can remain in a hn for more than two weeks.

India Blue male with black shoulder hen gives you all india blue split to BS. Only a BS to BS will give BS. So 99.9% positive the BS peacock is the male. Chances are your BS is the dominant male cause he would chase off the other males.

I just discovered this baby has slipped tendons. Does anyone have the pictures of how to make the splints?

I read a story about someone that took their chick to a vet and the vet did a minor surgery to fix the problem. If I remember correctly, he made a small incision and stitched the tendon in it's proper place.

When I rescued a couple of the peachicks from the feedstore, I looked for pictures on how to splint the leg, but couldn't find any, but off of the top of my head, do you think one of those flexible drinking straws would work? That and and a chick sling might be enough, but I don't know, had no luck in fixing the two that I rescued, but maybe that's because they were already too swollen.
