Bleeding between toes on chicks

I am a first timer and today I noticed that two of my month old New Hampshires have a bit of blood on the webbing between their toes. It almost looks like cracking from dryness. It's not dripping, but I am afraid the others might peck at it.
Any ideas what it is and how to take care of it? Their bedding is shavings and they have gone outside a few times. Other than this they have been doing great. Thanks!

Hi there,
You can put vaseline on their legs if you think it's dryness. It could possibly be scaly leg mites, but I doubt it. The vaseline would kill the mites if by chance that was the problem.
