So we managed to drain almost 1 quart of fluid and she got a bit better but still not really 100%
was doing ok with the other but after 3 or 4 day she wanted to be away from them
so now she by herself but not normal walking or doing what chickens do ..

not eating a whole lot either
had to hand feed her some burger meat -- talking about been spoiled ! :)

anyway ..can anyone give advice here what to do ? she is about 3 years old - named Kiwi..

thanks!!!!

I'm very sorry about your bird. Unfortunately fluid build up like this is usually a symptom of something else wrong like internal laying, salpingitis, some cancers, or organ failure. Draining the fluid can help make them more comfortable for a time, but will not address the underlying issue, and the fluid will often build back up. The fluid build up puts a lot of pressure on their internal organs and can make it hard for them to breathe. And sometimes if too much fluid is drained too quickly it can put the bird into severe shock. If the bird is laying internally then there is not much you can do for her other than maybe hormone implants(suprelorin) to stop the laying, but they are expensive, require a vet and have to be redone every 3 to 6 months. It's hard to say exactly what is going on with her without a vet work up. Reproductive problems are common in laying hens, especially those breeds that are prolific layers. I can only tell you what I would do, in the absence of vet care, I would watch her and if she seems relatively comfortable then just monitor her, but if she seems to really not be feeling well I would consider not letting her suffer. And consider a necropsy to tell you for sure what actually happened. You can have one done or if you are up to it you can do an informal one yourself. I'm sorry to not have any more positive help for you.
