Hi,
My duck Clive seems to have smaller nostrils than my other ducks. It means that she is constantly getting mud stuck and harden in them. This really worries me.
They have constant acsess to fresh water but she just doesn’t use it enough. The others are all fine.
I’m not sure what to do. Are there any risks of infections? Her breathing is certainly obstructed through her nose.

We often bring her inside and try our best to clear her nostrils out. There seems to be a lot of build up though and I’m worried.
Other than then she is perfectly happy and active.

how old is she?
what breed is she?
does she have access to clean water that’s deep enough to dunk her whole head into it?

Yeah she defo has enough water. She’s almost one year old now. And she’s a Welsh harlequin but I think she is also mixed with kharki cambell because she doesn’t look quite like a wh.

can you post pictures of her nares? i know it’s hard to get a close up of a ducks bill, they don’t like to hold still, but try.
A couple years ago, I posted a thread very similar to yours because I had a duckling who looked like she had no nares at all but gradually, they grew larger and she’s fine.
