Barnette
Crowing
I went outside to check on my birds and Hermione, my White-Faced Black Spanish, had a slightly raised back and was walking funny. I spend a lot of time around my chickens so I can tell when something was off. I immediately checked her vent and there was a bloody, bubbly string of liquid in her vent feathers and some blood around the cloaca. Her crop is also squishy but I don't know if that has anything to do with it, I think she just drank a lot of water. Her breath smells fine. She is acting normal except for the slightly raised back end and funny gait - she's eating, drinking, moving around, she's not lethargic or anything. What should I do? I'm really worried about vent prolapse or something. We're about to leave for a few days and we can't cancel this trip. I'm willing to bring her to the vet today if I have to. Please help!
