okay i candled this morning day12..seen blood rings should i toss or wait? some eggs i seen nothing.... should i toss...shipped eggs from ebayer...

The number of people who are new at candling who mistake veins for bloodrings is too high. No harm in running it longer. Lots of new folks to candling and some older ones have killed developing eggs, finding out the hard way it's hard to tell some of the time.

While they may not heal - another five days could prove it was veins and NOT a blood ring.

Mark them, check them again in four or five days or at hatch. Being WRONG sucks.

Really? On day 12 could what seems to be a blood ring really be a chick? I could see on day 7 or 8 maybe making a mistake but I would think by day 12 it would be pretty obvious. Of course I'm new to all of this and I'll trust the word of the experts -- I'm just surprised, is all.

I'll be candling my day 8 eggs on Monday and I'm sure I'll have questions too!

If there is any question at all, I'd mark them also, then candle again in 4 or 5 more days. It shouldn't hurt them at all to leave them in unless they're weeping.

I'm new at this as well. We are hatching out our first batch of eggs (hatch date on/around July 11th). The kids and I are just overly anxious and candled about 4-5 of our 24 eggs today. Just to see if we could see in our brown eggs. One of the ones we checked appears to have a blood ring so we marked it and put it back in. Ok, my question is what is weeping? Is it like liquid seeping through?
