I have 2 D'Anvers that went broody within a week of each other. They have been sharing the nest the whole time. Today the chicks started to hatch. I went out a few minutes ago and they had pecked 2 of them so bad they had to be culled. One was almost dead anyway, so I brought the 2 remaining in and the last egg that has pipped. They are not going to hurt the others. Why would they do this. I know the one that hatched early this morning was doing real well and was so beautiful.
Dh was really upset at having to put them down. He is so mad at those girls.
