I have a newly hatched chick cheeping at the side of the incubator, but when he moved there was a bit of shell and blood on the cardboard floor

Is this normal?? I have 4 others pipping so I can't take it out.

A tiny smear or two of blood is fairly normal and nothing to worry about. If the chick is cheeping and moving about it sounds fine to me. And now I've said that I should probably add: If it keels over and lies flat out on the bator floor don't worry, it'll just be sleeping!

Thank you. The trouble is that blood goes such a long way, but I have two now and they are all fluffed up and cute and not bleeding.
