Hello,
We had a chick start to pip today, but blood came everywhere out of the pip hole. I got nervous because the chick would drown in the blood. So I pulled the chick out of the egg so it would not drown. Sadly the yolk sac was not absorbed. Is this chick doomed? Please help!!

I dont know much about triaging newborn chicks, but I didnt want you to feel ignored so I thought I'd say something.

I'm surprised it pipped. It doesn't look ready to come out to me. In my view the yolk sac looks very dark too. But I think the answer is probably that you cant really do anything. Keep it warm. Theres a recent thread here somewhere about what to do if a small amount of yolk is sticking out. Maybe read the comments there and see if any of that is helpful.

You can try to save it but it probably won't make it. I'm sorry. I would keep it in the incubator some place undisturbed by the other chicks to see if it will absorb the yoke. But that's unlikely. :(

In the future when assisting, if you ever see blood stop assisting immediately. I'm sorry. I know you were trying to help. I've been there. :hugs
