Bloody chicken feet

Sometimes my chickens get bloody feet and I'm not sure what's causing it. Sometimes it looks like their feet are chapped or maybe their pecking at each other's feet?

Look at them and make sure there are no scales that look like they are pulled out or up. Could be mites and those buggers are just bad. Otherwise, what do you have them walking on? Is it just dirt or maybe wire? If not something that could make them bleed then I know I would check for mites.Hope someone else chimes in because I could be wrong but it would be my best guess.

mites? ugh that doesn't sound good. They're on dirt. How would I be able to check for mites?
