I have a similar problem, but my bird definitely doesn't look that bad (poor thing). It is both my Wynodottes (the other three birds are FINE). My flock is two Wyns, one Buff Orp, a Dominique, and what I think is a Barred Rock (I ordered two Doms, but one has a straight comb and I think is a Barred).
All hens are 11 months. For the past four months I've occasionally had slightly bloody eggs. The Wyndottes also lay 'funky' eggs - two sides flattened with thinner, crackled shells or with 'crinkles' in them. Earlier this year I had thin shells, but the birds get lots of calcium now and it is no longer a problem.
The birds' vents look fine. Both birds have very messy feathers around the vent though. One had what seemed to be a broken egg that dried (I carefully cut the dried yolk out) and then poop. First it was both Wyns. Now one seems almost better (and her eggs are crinkled, but not crackled) and almost clean. The other is still messy, although also clearing up. It is too cold to bathe them.
If it is a yeast infection, will something like kefir help? That's what the humans in the house use.
