We've been getting one brown egg with blood on it for the past three days. We have 14 hens, 23-26 weeks old, they started laying on July 29th. The highest number of eggs we've collected in one day is 11. It's possible some hens aren't laying yet.

I checked everyone's vents and didn't find any blood. Everyone is moving and behaving normally. Eyes, ears, feathers, feet, beaks all look clean and healthy. Is there anything else I can do or watch out for?

This sometimes happens, and it should just disappear. What I think happens, is there is a little tear when the hen lays the egg and gets a smear on the egg. It begins to heal up, and here comes another egg. Now, it is kind of like a scabby knee when you have wrecked the bike, each day the scab gets smaller, but if you pick the scab, it will still bleed till one day it is gone.

That's good to know, thanks! We didn't find any eggs with blood on them today. It's possible she didn't lay which would give her some time to heal, or she did lay and she has already healed. Good either way.
