Last night I talked to one of my customers, and she said that one of the eggs that she purchased from me had blood in it. Not just a spec, of a clump of tissue. A lot of it. Like real liquid blood.

We eat a lot of eggs, and have never seen this before. What is the cause of it, and should I be concerned?

Thank you so much! ;)

Occasionally a hen will develop a 'glitch' in her reproductive tract and blood/meat spots or actual blood will occur. You could try candling the eggs and not selling any with problems. In commercial productions such eggs generally go for baking.

In the last couple of weeks I've had 2 different girls lay bloody eggs...hope its not going to be a problem
