She was pecked on, but should I bandage this ? Or leave it open? I am going to clean her , we have all the emergency topicals for chickens. And should I take a friend ? I have 3 chicks at home. She’s eating and drinking and a runt at I think 12 weeks ?

That looks pretty severe, but I've seen worse. I would separate it out, but still within sight of the others, and keep the flies out of the wound. We use bluekote as a wound dressing. She will heal up.

She’s a strong little chick. Should I wrap it? That’s or try to? I am going to separate her and bring her inside , because she’s so tiny and the flies have been rather terrible.
I’m debating taking a friend or not. She will not be going back with this herd. She is the smallest chick for her size. Speckle Sussex runt.

Don't wrap it. I have always let wounds open to dry and heal on their own time. Last year a chick got scalped like but it was her whole back. It grew in and you can't tell now. I would try to take another mellow chick for company as long as you apply bluekote to hide the blood. Otherwise the other chick may peck at the wound. I definitely would keep an eye on the pair, and be prepared to remove the second one if necessary.

If it comes down to it, I’ll cull this one hen. I’ve never had a hen aggressively attack like that. But there’s a first for everything. Will Clean her up and see how she does , before adding more. I already have 3 little chicks making a lot of noise :)

I'd remove all chicks from wherever she was. There's most likely to be another attack, especially if they are with adult chickens. They're too young to be with adult chickens, and will continue to either get picked on, or starved. I've had it happen before. :(

They are going to be turning 12 weeks. They Are almost the same size as my one year old hens. But if this hen is an aggressive hen, I will cull her. She has been feather picking another hen and it took until recently to figure that out. I have an escape area in the coop that the chicks have been using. I have 10 , I can not put them back in the brooder, they are wild 😅.

Oh, ok. Hm, before culling, maybe you should try this: Penny's in Jail
