My buff orpingtons are just over a year old and all of a sudden one of them is pooping really bloody stools and the eggs that are usually Brown have turned white. Any thoughts what it could be? Are the eggs still safe for consumption? She seems lethargic too

I am not sure what is wrong but see the diagnosis charts at bottom. They are on the old side for coccidiosis, but a hen can still come down with it if immunocompromised. Some vets will do a fecal test for cocci/worms for a small fee (bring the poo- false negatives for worm fecal float are possible). So the treatment would depend upon whether it was necrotic enteritis or coccidiosis (or something else entirely!).

Hens can become immunocompromised via worm infestations, mites/lice, or anything that takes a flock down.

I hope this helps!

(Oh and I personally would separate the one with bloody stools and not eat her eggs. I don't know about the other ones' eggs.)

You can give her a combination of (Homeopathic medicine)

Sulfur 30 + Nux vomica 30 + Merc Cor 30.

In 50 ml of water add four to five drops each and let her drink to her will.
