I've got ten 3-day old bantam cochins. Three are definitely feathering in blue, one I think is dark blue, but she could be black. They all have dark beaks. Six are feathering in black and white, and their beaks are pink, some have black spots on them. I assume these are splash babies.

So as chicks, do all splash cochins have pink beaks, and all blue and black cochins have dark beaks?

All the pictures I've seen of splash cochin chicks have really light-colored down. Most of these are medium blue to almost black on top.

Have I guessed their colors correctly?

Here's a dark baby with a pink beak, feathering black and white (standing next to a BR or BSL packing peanut):

Neither is splash. Mine were like that and feathered in black, dark blue and medium blue

Bump...

The chick on the left is a BR or BSL. The one on the right I think is splash.

Can anyone answer the beak question?

No, I said above the picture, and then a couple posts above this one that it is either a BR or BSL. The best picture I have of one of the babies I think is splash just happens to be with a packing peanut for size comparison.
