Good Morning! I got my small addition to my flock in a few days ago and between convincing them that they like my "preening" and cleaning off pasty butt I've started to wonder about what variety I actually have. Now, two are Green Queens from Meyer Hatchery (aka MUTTS. One is a lovely buff example from their website, the other a huge jet black girl who runs out from under the heat like she has a fire cracker in her butt.)
My third chick a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. By the nature of the breeding, I know she can be black, blue, or splash. What pattern should I be seeing on the wing feathers to determine if she is a black/blue/or splash? If I am understanding correctly, as splash has no black in the feathers (which means I do not have a splash). The blue vs black is unclear for me though. Can anyone tell me the characteristics?
