Hello, I have what I believe to be a Blue Cochin and he's (at least that's what I've been calling it I'm not sure of the gender) getting picked on by the other chickens to the point I had to pull him out. I pulled him out once a few weeks ago and waited for ALL of his wounds to heal as my friend told me as long as he doesn't have any injuries a reintroduction should prove satisfactory but it didn't do the trick and within an hour he was worse than before. He's about 8 weeks old and I've currently got him in with a month old chick that I'm unsure of it's breed entirely. I'm not too worried about him at the moment as he has greatly improved my one month old's demeanor as he is much more lively and surprisingly more friendly due to what I believe is the caring nature that is a Cochin. (I'm not bias I swear) I was just wondering what I could do to reintroduce him back to the flock when the time comes that the younger chick is also ready. Anyways here is a pick of him now that he's almost healed up again minus the feathers and the other chick on the right is the month old so if you could please supply some opinions and tell me the gender of the Cochin with any guesses as to the breed of the other chick I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Oh I know that they are all the same age though. I suppose I should have explained I ordered the Cochins as a variety pack straight run. That's why I'm not sure of his gender.

Oh you can try spraying him with blu kote (it is purple and stains!) and then put rooster booster no pick lotion on the parts of him that they like to peck at. It tastes bad to them. You have to apply the rooster booster lotion daily- looks like molasses.

Thank you so much. I usually just put them in a pen right next to the other chickens for about a week and they get along fine. Do you know where I can buy the rooster booster? Any stores or is it strictly online?

Okay thank you. I have some wound care that's like blu kote I just didn't know what blu kote was at first. I will definitely check out rooster booster I prefer to buy local so I'll check some feed stores before going online.
