Blue concrete sand?

I went to the local Gravel Pit to see if they had river sand this is my last resort in trying to find any. They didn't have any but she showed me examples of all there sand. The one I liked the most was called Blue concrete sand. It's gritty & they dig it out of the water so it's been clean.
Has anybody tried this sand? It looks good to me for $8.00 a ton or $20.00 all I can shovel.

Is it silica free? Just curious. I am thinking of getting the washed construction sand and adding sweet pdz.
