I work all day and by the time I get home, I'm lucky to get any eggs. The darn jays & crows are getting to them before I do. They chip away a hole the size of a nickel and eat only a portion of the eggs so I come home to that plus masses of ants.
My flock free ranges and I have nesting boxes around the yard so they get to choose where they lay, none of the boxes are covered to the point where only the hens can access them.
I want to take my pellet gun and pop a couple and hope the word gets out, but ultimately, I think better nesting arrangements will be the best choice. Any ideas?
