Blue Jersey Giant

Do any hatcheries sell blue Jersey Giants? All I'm finding are black.

I know there are breeders out there who do the blue, but I haven't seen them at hatcheries.

I see blacks and every now and again whites but never any blues. Need to look around, but do you get blues from crossing white and black?

Wow that's a good question, I think the white is recessive, so in that case in a couple of generations, right gene experts? You'd have to do black cock/ white hen. Then from the splash offspring you'd have to go back to black but I don't remember which should be black -cock or hen!! SOS!

Also, there is one breeder I've come across that only breeds Jersey Giants (Black, Blue, Splash), and pics look good, but that website indicates that they do not allow their site to be linked on any kind of social media....but was pretty easy to find when searching for Jersey Giants...just sayin'

I purchased BJG from a hatchery in Ohio and they are really nice (and large) birds. They are almost 7 weeks old, so I am looking forward to seeing how big they might get. They are bigger than all the other chicks we purchased (regular size chickens, not bantams). The hatchery I used only has Black, not any other color.

Jersey Giants do not have feathers on their legs. That would be Brahmas or Cochins. Jerseys are clean legged and Single combs.
