Blue-kote not for waterfowl

I just came across this in one of my FB duck groups. I havent used it before, but I know I've read a lot of threads that recommend blue-kote

I think you will find most veterinarians avoid using Blu-Kote on all wounds, of most animals. The ingredients discourage the healing of wounds and the dyes (gentian violet) stain the wound to make it hard to monitor the healing progress.
