Blue laced red wannodite

I have a few Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. Two mature roos, one 10 week old roo, three mature hens and three 10 week old pullets. Originally started with one roo and two hens. All the rest were hatched out from these. Being a mix will most likely lower the value of the hen. Most layer pullets found for sale are around $8 to $10 a piece. I think that would be the most a person might get from a mixed breed. Also depends on how much she will lay. My BLR Wyandottes lay fairly well. Five a week is about normal for most of them. Wyandottes have been around for a long time so they are not all that rare. Being a BLR Wyandotte will make it rare as there are not alot of them. Most Wyandottes people have are Silver Laced or Golden Laced, both of which I have also. The BLR was created by mixing these two colors over a period of time.

I raise the BLRWs too...The BLR wyandottes are not really very rare anymore.....but the good ones still are. Now that some of the hatcherys are selling them, I'm sure they'll mess them up just like they pretty much have other breeds.

Well, yes, they are, but they are becoming much more common. That color is a hard one to get right, and as Katy said, if they are hatchery stock, much more so. The Ameraucana part of the hen--if that is an EE, that alone isn't a pure breed, then crossed with anything, it's still considered a mutt. Now, being a pullet, she lays eggs like every other hen, so you may get $5-10 for her, depending on your area. I bet she's pretty! Do you have a picture of her?

I read that blue laced red wyanodottes are the least common breed of wyannodite

BLRW with quality lacing are not very common but BLRW as a breed/color are getting pretty common.....since she is a mix odds are she will not have the same lacing that is so highly sought so I would think $8-$10 which is typical price for a laying hen in most areas would be a fair price depending on where you are located and if she is already laying.....you may find some willing to pay more and some not wanting to pay that much.
