Hello, I recently got some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes (have had them for about 8 months and they are 8 months old) and would love to mix them up and breed some funky and pretty chickens. I have many breeds but am mostly interested in what a few crosses would look like. If you have any of these crosses please share

I'll list the adult breeds that I have that I'm curious about what the crosses would look like. And come spring I'll post some chick pictures of the chicks that I hatch from a few of the questioned crosses

I've one blrw rooster and six blrw hens that will always be together in their breeding pen so the other breeds that I'll list will be all female that I would add into this pen:

White Wyandotte
Silver laced Wyandotte
Golden laced Wyandotte
Silver Phoenix
Turken (buff, red, black, and cream)
Easter eggers
Light Brahma
Barred Plymouth Rock
Black jersey giant
White crested blue polish
And possibly a black Sumatra hen
These are only a few of the breeds I have and the ones I'm most curious about what the crosses with these blue laced red Wyandotte's would look like

I haven’t had blue lace red so no photos and no experience with that cross, but blue laced red gives you some fun possibilities. Crossed with your Silver Laced Wyandotte or Light Brahma you should get red sex links. I’m not sure but your Silver Phoenix may also make a red sex link, but I’m not sure you would be able to see the difference in the down. Crossed with your Barred Rock you will get black sex links, some blue and some black. Your EE’s could be any color/pattern so no way can we generalize on them. I think that’s about it for possible sex links but I’m not familiar with all of those. There may be some other sex link hiding in there, like maybe the cream Turken, but I’m not sure.

The blue in that male gives you the possibility of either blue or black feathers in most of those combinations. And red is a color that is pretty much insubordinate to many of the other colors, it generally allows the hen’s genetics to show through. A black rooster will produce mostly black chicks. A white rooster is a real unknown because there are different ways to make white and you never know what can be hiding under that white. Instead of overwhelming the other colors, red tends to let the other genetics shine through, often adding some nice compliments.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so I won’t make any suggestions, just that you have a lot of potential there. Good luck!

I was hoping a person good with genetics would pop up, I have many breeds but I was just really trying to pick out the funkiest looking ones to try and cross with. I chose the brahmas because of the feathered feet but if I only get a bunch of brown sex linked chicks I might not do it since that's 70% of what my flock is already. I'm aiming more for funky colorations, if you have any breeds in mind that would work the way I'm hoping please share

if I've got that breed I'll probably give it a shot

thanks again for replying with your genetics wisdom

I know I'm late to this post but I have a blue laced red wine dot in who I just mixed with my rooster who is a silver Phoenix Sussex cross. I was wondering what your mixes turned out looking like? Mind of Houston all of them are looking like they're going to be beautiful birds but I was just curious as to what they might look like fully grown ?
Thank you.

I have Blue Laced Red Wyandotte's and Road island white's does anyone know what I would get if I crossed them? The rooster I would use is a Blue laced red and White hen's.
