Lol, maybe cause they can't find blacks.I wonder why nobody really breeds this color mutation here in the U.S. They seem very common in the United Kingdom.
JK but that's probably a bit to do with it.
I think it has a lot to do with the lavender gene and the shredder gene. The Isabellas were the first variety with the lavender gene and when they first started getting distributed they had horrible feather quality.
They were hot for a bit but seems people got over them fairly quickly and most said it was because of their poor feathering.
I just don't think many wanted to expand with the lavender gene.
The solid lavender birds are pretty though.
