Does anybody have or know of anyone breeding blue or lavender leghorns in the United States? All kinds of info on the web but most seem to come from the United Kingdom.
Thanks,
Dave

I haven't heard of lavender but I believe Curtis Oaks of PA has blue bantams. Black leghorns both large and bantam don't seem to be that popular which would be the foundation for blues or lavenders. Are you thinking of making your own?

Lavender is called SELF BLUE in the US. BLUE is very different with darker hackle in female and dark hackle, back, tail and saddle on the male. (usually bred with some Black crosses). Haven't seen them in Leghorns, but I see very few Leghorns in their usual varieties..

You should look into Blue Andalusians, very leghorn-like and the original blue chicken. Leghorns are not common hobby chickens in the US, I suppose they seem ordinary and lack the novelty factor of a Brahma or Cochin.

These chicks I just hatched are blue Orpington/CA white leghorn crosses. Interested how they grow up.
