Blue Orp vs Buff Orp

I recently got pullets about 14 weeks..five blue orps, six buff. First..will they both lay about they same, or are the buff better? Plus my friend said his started laying at 20 weeks...should I get the nest boxes read..even with shorter daylight?

Breeding behind the birds can dictate production more than the variety. Where did you get them from? Hatchery stock tends to lay best. Most of my buff Orpingtons start at 5-6 months of age. I haven't owned blue. My hatchery lavender Orpingtons started at about the same as the buffs. My breeder Orpingtons usually started later at 6-8 months and lay a lot less.
