Hi everyone! So I have a few questions and I hope I'm in the right place!
So recently I've been hatching out babies like crazy. Most of the time I either end up with satin/smooth silkies OR pure white silkies. But now I've noticed that two black little poofs who I thought would be satin/smooth silkies are actually getting silkie hair and they are blue?
Mama is a black silkie. Daddy is either a black satin/smooth silkie (he's the one in my picture) OR a white silkie roo. I've never seen my white roo anywhere near this hen and I also didn't think mixing a black hen with a white roo would get blue babies.
So could the dad be my black satin? Or would the babies of a silkie hen and a black satin roo have smooth feathers?
I am a bit confused and those are the only two "silkie" Roos I have.
Thank you!
