Blue silkies??

Hello guys, still very new to this site but i have already learned a ton thanks to you all!! i am picking up a pair of black silkies tomorrow (my wife spotted them and fell in love) and i was reading up on breeding these two and i know black to black will produce black but i seen online that breeding a splash silkie to a black will produce a blue silkie 100%. If this is correct does that mean breed my black roo to a splash hen or vise versa or does it matter? thanks guys.

Doesn't matter which way you breed them, any black bred to any splash produces 100% blue... due to the splash having 2 blue genes it will pass on 1 blue gene to every single one of it's offspring...

Thanks for the reply!! Looks like I'll be adding a splash hen to my black pair!!
