Agreed, both cockerels. I don't think they are Marans either, leg color is wrong. Should be white not yellow.
I just adore the larger one. He is very sweet and enjoys being around me. The other one is the exact opposite. That’s why I could have sworn it was a pullet! They are both males. The larger one has decent colored feet. The smaller one has some pretty bright one's though.
However, darker shanks are accepted on certain varieties:

So I wouldn't panic about them not being white. I'm sure if you look at the breeder's adults they aren't either.

Those are Birchen Marans..and you have a roo and pullet. See how her comb still yellow? See how one with yellow comb has shorter tail? Roo gets tail and wing feathers way before pullet. Marans have yellow legs but bottom of foot is white. Birchen Marans eggs are a deep tericotta. It looks like dark blue bodies and dark heads. Kind of look black in other pics but blue should be undeniably seen. Pics make it hard to tell.
The behavior you described tells me a roo who is already wondering and letting you know he is there and starting to set up terrotory and the pullet should hang back or lay down.
This is EXACTLY what I thought. The one with the yellow comb is still feathering out. The other has a larger, red comb, thicker legs, tail feathers etc. I called them blue Birchen, but the person I got the eggs from said they are called “blue silver” now. I just knew the red comb was a roo from the beginning bc he had the best personality and always wanted to hang out with me. I always seem to become attached to the RoostersThose are Birchen Marans..and you have a roo and pullet. See how her comb still yellow? See how one with yellow comb has shorter tail? No, you’re correct. One has a larger red comb and the other has a smaller yellow comb. That’s why I thought roo and pulletI see a big difference in comb color in your first pic. Unless it's my computer screen.
