Blueberrys and ducks.

Are Blueberrys ok for ducks? Today my boyfriend and I had bought some and some where dropped and the ducklings got a couple, Its been a few hours and they aren't showing any signs of concern... But are the blueberrys harmful????

Your ducks will be fine. Blueberries are harmless to the best of my knowledge.

I know there was a thread where someone's ducks got drunk off of fermented grapes but I've never heard of anything with the blueberries.

Well im sure who ever found out that ducks got drunk off of them must have had a very odd expirence. Well, they all seem to be doing fine. Maybe Ill give them some as a treat. The young ones seemed to love them.

My ducks are blueberry-o-holics! They love popping them and then going for the little seeds. Seems they think they're eating a worm, almost! I'd avoid letting them go too crazy on them since they are pretty sweet, and my ducks seem to have no limit on how many they'll eat.
Whenever I've had a sick duck that starts to go off its feed a bit, I've had good success with giving them a little dish of cut-up blueberries in a little water.

My problem with ducks and blueberries is that they love them! I haven't finished putting together my kitchen garden, but I can see that there's going to have to be a barrier or I'll have to buy my own blueberries. Every time I turn around I'm shooing them away from the bushes!

Lol, thats pretty funny. Im making them a breakfast for them tomarrow, Im useing Green peppers, Strawberrys, (now) Blueberrys, Grapes, Tomato, Cracked corn, and Dry cat food. The Young ones nearly attacked me for the bowl, I let them have a blue berry or 2 and they will get the rest tomarrow with the others Todays breakfast was of Cracked corn, Peppers, and Dry cat food, they went nuts! I cant wait for tomarrows reaction! And its good to know they can have some, blueberrys are cheap and easy to give to them!

Mine dont really care for peas either, im tryoing everything to see what they like. Try small pieces of chicken, mine almost killed me for my plate that i was eating, so i had to share LOL
