Blues?

Hi! I've been wanting to get blue hamburgs but when you get the chicks they could be be blue/black/splash. If you breed... say a black and a blue, them what will it turn out to be? A mutt or a blue, black or splash? thanks!

well if you order from a hatchery you could get blue, black or splash

if you breed blue to blue you'll get blue, black, and splash. There are percentages but that is out of 100 birds hatched and can be misleading in my opinion

if you breed a black to a blue you'll get blue and black

if you breed a black to a splash you'll get all blue

if you breed a blue to a splash you'll get blue and splash

You can do a Punnett square with just simple signs not complex ones to figure it out. BB being black, Bb being blue and bb being splash.

this might be dumb questions but i have no clue! what happens if you breed blue to blue or black to black or splash to splash? thanks

blue to blue will give you blue, black or splash.

Black to black will give you only black. Splash to splash gives you all splash. Genetically, a blue bird is a black bird with one blue gene. A splash is a black bird with two blue genes affecting the color.
