Bobcat info?

Thank you. I honestly dont know if house cats are decendant of bobcats. Yes, T-Bone is a he. He is rather pampered and spoiled. Alot of people do not realize what a HUGE responsibility these kinds of animals are. I always say, "Do your research! And plan on putting the animal in your will because a domesticated bobcat will OUT LIVE you." LOL I have my cat willed to my children. I bought him, and he didnt ask to be domesticated. So, I am responsible for him for life. Bobcats are not for everybody. They can be a pain. BUT- I love mine. He plays hide and seek with me. He will convince me to follow him in a dark bedroom and he will hide. I walk in slowly and he SCREAMS, jumps out at me and pretends to "get me" LOL Its pretty funny. He loves to make you holler.

T-Bone eats two to three hindquarters of chicken a day. Or, 2 to 3 pounds of deer meat. I would ask your local Game and Fish to relocate him. If you dont take him 50 miles away, he will likely be back because of "dinner" If you trap him, THEN call game and fish, they really dont have a choice but to come get it. LOL Tell them, its harming my livestock.

Hubby says 10 miles away is good, if its a good enviroment. They like bluff lines, and rocky areas with water close. remote areas with habitat for hunting. He says Game and Fish will trap it for you, but it depends on where you live. They WILL come get it if you already have it trapped. What state are you in? BTW- bobcats are EXTEMELY smart. My cat , I swear premeditates all the mischief he gets into. (he can open my microwave. He swiped hamburger out of it)

So fantistic how responsible you are with your BC. I play chase and hide and seak with one of my house cats. A 7lb balinese. she really loves it.

Game and fish do not come out here. They tell us it is ok for a lion to kill a deer in a neighbours front yard (less than 1/3 acre community). Same with BC or what ever.

Sorry for my soap box but here it is.

They say it is lion wolf or what ever country. Too bad so sad for you. When these animals started voting and paying taxes I am not sure. I have no issues with the animals...love seeing them at a distance...but hanging around my or my community is not safe or ok.

Game and Fish is more about preditors now and stocked with the envirionmental extreme. They refer to these wolves as their wolves. They seam to care very little about prey animals, hunters or even just the people that live here and our safety. If this has not happened in your area yet watch out it might be comming your way.

They do nothing about lions and little about bears here. I do not hunt but am often thankful to know a few that I can call and say...hey I have a lion around. Protected super preditors are a whole different issue. Their are very few rights an property owner has left when it comes to their safety and their animals safety.

I am very envirionmental have an organic garden, and want chickens because I had them as a kid love them and want to have fresh eggs from non battery hens. I feel sad that the people we are employing to protect us have other agendas.

I think it is important all the learning provided here on how to be safe with predators and keep flocks safe too.

Thank you! Yes, they make some neat sounds. (BC's) T-Bone even tries to mimick my rotties bark! Its funny, because she'll bark when someones at the door and he chimes in.

Thank you for posting a picture of your bobcat, he is very beautiful. If you ever look closely at a domestic cat you will see alot have those little ear tuffs like bobcats do. Actually I think the domestic cat is a descendent from the desert cat.
