Bobwhites and Laying

I have some bobwhite quail that hatched on 06-07-09 and I am wondering when they might start laying. Will it be later this year if I provide 16 hours of light for them or will it not be until next spring when they start?

Probably not, bobwhites don't start laying till they are 16-20 weeks old. They might lay this fall, but I believe they usually start laying the following spring.

Most likely next spring. Although I have one that is just now 20weeks that has started laying.
