Our boer goat with a broken back leg is going back to the vet after a week of having a splint on, and she's not very active, and we had to wait a week to take her to the vet to put a splint on her. How bad is it to wait a week, and we'll see what they say tomorrow.

I have no idea. In this case you could have put a splint on yourself. I have made splints with a length of PVC pipe and lots of cotton for padding. In this case, the vet will probably have to rebreak the leg and start over.

If the break is as high up as you said, there isn't much you can do. Keeping the splint on and keeping her quiet may allow it to heal. If it does, it may always be a weak point and she will have to be prevented from jumping up and down off of things.

Took her to the vet, and the vet said that it had stabilized, and that she saw a lump like its healing. Will have to take her back next week to check the progress, hoping that she will walk normal again.

Goats have remarkable powers of healing. Given enough time, she will probably be fine.
