I was wondering if any one feeds their cornish X hard boiled eggs as another form of high protein food? I my laying hens produce enough surplus eggs could I feed my cornish X a boiled egg diet and see the same kind of results I've been seeing with commercial meat bird feed.

Since eggs are rated as a 100 for quality of protein that they contain it seems to me that this should be a good diet to offer. It gives me yet another great use for the eggs my laying hens offer us without having to give any away or worry about selling them. Am I off base in my thoughts or am I risking mad chicken disease?

I don't know if it helps in formulating your response. . .I do brood them inside for the first couple of weeks on a meat bird feed and then move them out into a tractor until I finish them. They get meat bird feed in the tractor, and often eat grass, weeds, or what ever else they can manage to find.

Thanks,
Sean

jaku-

I have had a hard time figuring this one out myself. I have found information saying eggs are around 6 grams, but it's hard to compare to commercial feeds because they use percentages instead of weight.

If anyone knows the answer to this and I'm sure that some one has to know please help me out on this one as well.

Thanks,
Sean
