First time duck mom here.. a little over a week ago we brought home 2 ducks from the feed store, sadly we ended up loosing one. Question about this little thing, is it bonding with my children and myself?

Anytime I go and check it, it’s with a group of chicks at the moment, it goes crazy peeping and nibbles at my fingers. It does the same with my kids but not nearly as intense. Is this normal? Bonding?

It's called imprinting. Ducks/ducklings are very social animals and should one or more companions. Could you buy one or two more ducklings? Possibly from Craigslist?

We went ahead and jumped on Craigslist the same night we lost the poor thing, best I could find was hatching eggs and I’ve already put them in the incubator.. I can try to move up my order from McMurray, soonest would be the week of April 12th. Can keep checking at the feed store too.

Anything we can do in the meantime?

Thank you for the help.

Oh, ok. I hope all goes well with your hatch!

If he's imprinted on you the best thing you can do really is spend as much time with him as possible until you get more duck friends.
