I am hoping someone can help me. I am new here and at a loss. My beautiful hen has been over loved by my cockerell and I am very worried about her. She is currently in my bathroom recovering. I have washed her with fresh, clean salt water and put antiseptic powder on her so for now it is all I can do. However, when I inspected her she had what appeared to be dead bone sticking out. I removed it carefully and she didn't fuss. She is still walking, eating , drinking and flapping as normal. She has been very good and didn't make a noise when I examined her. But I am very concerned she could have something wrong with her I am unaware of and this is my first time owning chickens. The injuries have been caused from excessive mounting from my cockerell who has picked her as his favourite. He no longer has access to her or the other hen and I am hoping to rehome him. I only have 2 hens as he was also supposed to be a hen but turned out to be a male! I am sorry the photos are particularly strong. I took them once I had removed the bone and washed her wounds before she was dried. Please could someone help? I have looked and looked for answers with no luck and it's worrying me to death.

She is recovering really well! Thank you for all your help on here. I was super worried about her but she is healing nicely and much happier. Although she is absolutely lovelorn for the rooster haha. The pair of them just fuss and stand near eachother through the fence now like romeo and juliette! You'd think she would want to get away from him but she is clearly committed to him now haha. So, I'm glad they can be together without me stress put upon either one.
