I guess my lil ladies are getiting bigger, tonight is thier first night without thier light on !!!! Im happy and sad at the same time. I turned off their light hours ago, and not a peep : ( my lil peepsqueeks are becoming chickaladies : )

How old are they? I always kept a lamp on in the brooder. If they got too warm they'd just go sleep away from it. IMO the weather during this time of year is too varied to go without. I know that it was beautiful here last week but we are expecting snowmageddon tomorrow.

they are about four and a half weeks old, already have most of their feathers, I am keeping them in a large sized dog crate, with their lamp hangin on the outside. they are in my living room, where the temp is pretty much always between 75 and 78 , so i dont think they will be to cold. i am trying to get them used to a day time and night time schedule, because I will probably put them out in their coop in a few weeks. I live in texas so its already over 80 most of the day, they are in no danger of getting cold, lol heat stroke, is more like it. Right now, they are outside in thier pen, most of the day, today was the first day, they stayed outside from noon, to 11 pm while i was at work. I was soo worried, I bugged my bf all day, to make sure he checked on them, they were fine!!! I was at work, and seriously was thinking about how to rig a web cam on their coop : ), I'm gonna make them a coop cam, lol. ; )
