Hi all, we "picked up" this booted bantam cockerel a little while ago. He's now gone through quarantine and is integrated into our flock, but I'm wondering if anyone can help with the breed? I'm more of a large fowl person, so he has me stumped!

Thanks for the ID! Elvis has a big attitude for such a little chicken

Would anyone like to warrant a guess at his age?
What do his spurs look like?

Calico Cochin bantam.

My guess is that he's at least 5 months old. After that point, it gets hard to narrow down the exact age. I don't think that he's any older than 7-8 months.

I think he's 5-6 months old. He hasn't filled out completely yet, nor are his feathers ragged. Definitely doesn't look older than a year

He doesn't have any yet. He is crowing though, but doesn't bother the hens (but maybe that has something to do with them being about three times bigger than him).

If he doesn't have any spurs yet, my best guess is that he's about 5 months old. I would suspect that he would have larger spurs if he was any older than 6 months or so. My cockerels always have pretty obvious spurs by the time they are 6-7 months old.
