So... hatched 40 quail 3 weeks ago. 3 of 4 pure white colored ones died very quickly. Only white celadons.
All other chicks are totally fine, not sick & thriving. (Celadon & Cortunix)
My sole white one is eating, drinking and stools and feathers are fine. BUT she is tiny, weak & sleepy. It's been 3 weeks and thought she'd have passed by now.
She is very pretty, so is there anything to be done?
Is this typical of the white variety?
TY :)

I’d guess you have homozygous silver which causes death and weak/deformed chicks in many cases. I had one (and only one) that acted like he had Parkinson’s at hatch (shaky and wobbly) and could never stand up, just sort of hobbled around, never grew out of it and culled at six weeks (half sized and getting bullied/stepped on). It’s a hard decision to make but is sometimes best for everybody including the bird.

Are its eyes red? If so, it's an albino. Albinos are often sickly and rarely thrive.

BTW, coturnix and celadons are the same species (coturnix), celadons just lay blue eggs.
The celadon eggs I purchased from myshire, should I let them know for their own knowledge or its common for this mutation? TIA
