I Live in Borrego Springs, Ca.
I am new to chickens but once raised turkeys in Idaho. I plan to start with 25 - 30 birds in Oct ‘18.
I am mostly interested in meat. This is mostly “hobby”. I don’t really plan to save money be raising my own.
I have 1.3 acres, mostly gravelly sand, no vegetation to permit birds to range.
I plan to start with buff orpingtons.

Buff Orpington’s are fabulous. Oh sorry I’m very biased!
