BOSS and chicks

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I started throwing a handful in when they were 3-weeks just to see if they'd eat them and give them something to do. I made sure they have grit and I haven't noticed any problems.

I feed the hens with chicks BOSS and they break some up for their chicks. They would know better what to do with their chicks than any human.
Maybe start them off with shelled broken sunflower seeds. Smaller pieces. But I am sure at seven weeks they shouldn't have a problem with the size of BOSS.

Good luck with your babes...I just spent 30 minutes trying to coax my 5 BO's out of the chicken tractor so I could bring them inside to their brooder. Finally had to ask DH to help me get them to move to the door of the tractor! I'm getting too old for this!
