Bossy chickens

We had a bully who commandeered most of a roost and would not let the younger birds, recently integrated, roost there. There were roosts along three walls and she kept most of one all to herself. We caged her for three nights, then let her be with the others to see if she had learned anything. Unfortunately, she had not. So we repeated the process. The second time we released her, we were happy to see she'd had an attitude adjustment. We were prepared to repeat the process a few more times, but it wasn't necessary. The younger girls had gained confidence during her incarcerations and were able to stand up to her. They no longer put up with her nonsense so peace ruled in the hen house.
