I'm sorry for that tragic loss that's terrible have you put any traps for the rats and poison we have mice and rats that used to take our babies too a whole year of laying and they'll just disappear we've decided to take all the babies that hatch inside and raise them in safety and we've put rat poison around so they domt eat the adultsBoth of my gouldian finch females decided to lay in the same nest too. There was other nests, but they both wanted that one. One of the males filled that nest, but the other male was lazy and didn't fill his. The mate of the good male hatched a few chicks, and the father and both of the females looked after the babies. The other male just sat around and did nothing. Unfortunately, rats took the babies just before they fledged. They later took both females, and the males died for other reasons![]()

The only thing that goes missing are my baby canaries and mine are doing great soon going to their forever homeYeah, I tried traps and poison. I have since moved my finches to a different aviary, but something's still getting them in there too. I only have three left (zebra finches). Once I give them a more secure aviary, I plan to get more zebras and gouldians.
How are you're little canaries?
