Ive been in the new house 3 months and find i am enjoying my chickens.
Im looking forward to getting a few more. The chickens are sweet but the Rooster sometimes acts aggressive.

Is the rooster aggressive to humans or to his flock of hens? Or both? If you have no interest in trying to hatch fertile eggs or selling them, you do NOT need a rooster. Hens will continue to lay the same amount of eggs but, they will not be fertile. Aggressive roosters are common and usually end up in soup pot swimming with noodles.

If you post photos of your hens here or at "what breed or gender is this." someone will hopefully be able to ID them for you. Roosters can handle 10 hens each, fewer than they and they tend to be damaged and abused from overuse.

400

The Black one is Callemero
The Red one is Ginger
And the Blond one is Blondie she gets the most abuse from Chanticlair and the other hens. She is the smallest.

The Rooster is not always that way. Just sometimes when im out giving them treats the hens will run up to me to get them and the Rooster seems like it makes him mad because im able to get their attention away from him.So he comes at me like he's sticking out his chest.
