It does in fact sound like mash, which is just fine to use as a feed. I use mash that I purchase from the local mill. I feed it dry and always make sure that there is water available. If you are worried about waste, I can say that I have found that there is very little waste with mash compared to crumbles or pellets. If you think about it, it makes sense that it is alot easier to bill out large pieces of crumble or pellets compared to a finer grained mash.
