So I went to the hachery to get an incubator. (2362 Hova-bator) So heres what I want to do. I want to practice on a few eggs. Has anyone out there just done this? Like with one or two eggs that should be fertile. Just to get it right before spending money on hatching eggs of the chickens I want.

Nothing wrong with a small test hatch to get used to the incubator.
I'd recommend at least 4 eggs, so as to reduce your odds of only one chick hatching.

Four at a minimum - agreed. Usually my smallest group is six, because fertility isn't a gimme. And 2-4 are actually easier than 1-2 to raise. Adding in one or two new chicks to an existing flock is harder than adding more, less picking on an individual.
