box size

Hey all, We need some advice please. We will be getting about a dozen buckeyes and six americana day olds coming very soon. what would be the idea demensions for our chick box. and would you suggest one heat lamp or two.

The box size is determined on how long they will remain in there. A 4'x4' box will hold 18 chicks for a few months. One heat lamp will do. they will regulate their temperature, & will need enough room to back away from the heat source.
